2024 White Lady Funerals SBGC Women’s Club Championships

The 2024 Shelly Beach GC Women’s Club Championships have once again been sponsored by Long Jetty White Lady Funerals. Their generous support is very much appreciated by the club and all the players.
The event saw 116 women tee it up to contest the 54 hole Championship over three rounds of stroke play with the Senior Age Championship conducted over the first 36 holes. Many thanks to our Director of Golf Jason Hart and the Pro Shop Team who ran a successful event with support from the Women’s Committee. A cool, drizzly final day of play was followed by a very enjoyable Championship Presentation with GM Jeff Tomlinson generously putting on bubbles for all the ladies alongside some Championship cake.
Congratulations to all ladies who played the stroke event and tested their games under Championship pressure. Full results below but special mentions to our three Champions.
Our 2024 Club Champion is Kim Burke. This was Kim’s 23rd win with her first victory coming in 1982. Our Division 2 Champion is Mel Bensley who has won the title a few times before and our Division 3 Champion is Roz Evatt who joyously celebrated her first Championship title. All 3 ladies will now contest the CCWGA playoffs day at Toukley for the District Champion of Champions titles.
